Apply for Reinstatement of My Illinois Driving Privileges
If you are an out-of-state resident (permanent or temporary) applying for reinstatement of Illinois driving privileges, please visit the Hearing Information section.

Obtain Driving Relief/Restricted Driving Permit (Illinois Residents)
If your driving privileges are suspended and/or revoked, please contact an informal hearing officer for a consultation which will provide you with information about hearing requirements necessary to apply for driving privileges. A consultation is done on a walk-in basis, no appointment necessary. Please see the informal hearing officer schedule and locations. Request Results from a Formal Hearing
A decision is mailed within 90 days of the date of your formal hearing. The decision is mailed to the address provided at the time of hearing. If your address has changed since your hearing, please submit the new information in writing to the Springfield address. You must include your driver's license number or ID number.

Pay a Reinstatement Fee for a Suspension or Revocation
A $70, $250 or $500 reinstatement fee for a suspension or a revocation may be paid by credit card online, by mail with a check, cashier's check or money order made payable to Secretary of State with the affected driver's license number written on the front of the fee to the following address:

Suspension and revocation fees may be paid by telephone using a Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card by calling 217-785-8619. The $250 or $500 fee for a Statutory Summary Suspension and the $70 Zero Tolerance Suspension fees may be mailed to the DUI Section at the address above. To pay the reinstatement fee with a Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card, please call 217-782-3619. Debit cards are not accepted for reinstatement fees.

A $70 reinstatement fee for the Zero Tolerance Suspension, and the $250 and $500 fees for Statutory Summary Suspensions and Revocations may only be paid to the Springfield office. All other reinstatement fees may be paid in person at our Springfield office or at the following location:
