Secretary of State Departments and Driver Services Facilities to Reopen Jan. 24
All Secretary of State departments – including Driver Services facilities – will resume conducting in-person transactions Monday, Jan. 24. Driver Services facilities operating on a Tuesday – Saturday schedule will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 25. The following three CDL facilities are reopening Jan. 18 for in-person CDL services only: Rockford at 4734 Baxter Rd., Springfield at 2701 S. Dirksen Pkwy., and Marion at 1905 Rendelman St. Online transactions remain open for all departments to conduct office services. Read More
  • Illinois driver’s licenses, instruction permits and identification cards that have an expiration date between January 1, 2020 and March 31, 2022 have been extended until March 31, 2022. Commercial driver’s licenses and commercial learner’s permits are excluded from this extension.
  • Expiration dates for commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) and commercial learner's permits (CLPs) have been extended to Jan. 31, 2022. This rule change impacts CDLs and CLPs with expiration dates between Nov. 1, 2021, and Jan. 31, 2022.
