Entering
Search Criteria
Enter text in any field to restrict the search to only those records
which CONTAIN your text in that field. Enter the soldier's
name in the format: last name comma
space first name space
middle initial (for example,
Smith, John D). The first name and middle initial may be omitted to
accomplish a surname search. Searches are not case sensitive: you
may use any combination of upper and lower case letters. The
following types of searches may be conducted:
- Enter the soldier's name to return
a list of all soldiers with the name you entered.
- Select the name of a company
from the drop-down menu to
return a list of soldiers serving in that company. For example,
to locate all soldiers in the A Lincoln Company, select Lincoln,
A from
the drop-down menu in the search field for "Company."
- Select the place of enrollment
from the drop-down menu to
return a list of all soldiers enrolled in a given county,
township or city.
- Enter the soldier's
name and select the name
of the company from the drop-down menu to return a list
of soldiers with a specified name serving in a specific company.
- Enter the soldier's
name and select the place of enrollment from the drop-down menu to return a list
of soldiers with a specified name enrolled in a specific place.
Click the "Submit Query"
button after you have typed your search term or terms. Click the
"Reset" button to remove all search terms.
